Being around for almost ten years, The Flying Hellfish survived band members coming and going – especially bass players – to become who they are today. Back then, however, it was all about punk, metal and crossover.
Many Band Contests saw The Flying Hellfish take part with good results – the highlight being a third place at the Yamaha Band Contest in Vienna – yet not enough for a band with high ambitions.
With the current line-up together, it was only a matter of time for the ultimate next step to take place. Songs were re-arranged and re-recorded for which would later be known as the “unplugged”-era – an experiment that helped the band progress on both a musical and a personal level.
However, progress is a constant process. After rehearsing some more and perfecting their style, The Fyling Hellfish went back to their roots and metalled up the unplugged’s arse – playful melodies and massive riffs – the perfect mix for Salzburg’s latest heroes.
At the moment The Flying Hellfish look back at quite long time of rehearsing, training and recording. Now they are ready for the next step.
After years of practicing and musically growing up, The Flying Hellfish signed with Pate Records in spring 2008. Januar 2009 sees the release of their new album “Selfish” with concerts held in Vienna and Salzburg. Check Upcoming Gigs for more details.
